Who Knew Wednesday

I would not even be able to enjoy it.

I can only imagine the look on the faces of so many young people if they actually new this.

But you can't drink apples out of a cute cup with great flavored creamers.  Who actually wants to go on an apple date?

I knew I was famous!!!!! You are too!!!

First, who gave the damned bear a bowling ball??  It is really bothering me that the word know is spelled wrong.

Hopefully I remember this!!!

I had a great workout yesterday.  I ran four miles to the gym, took an hour spin class and then ran home.  It was back in the 80s yesterday here in Memphis, not complaining at all.  Made a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies which were heavenly.  I really like the show Botched, its season premiere was on last night, so I actually stayed up a little later than usual.
I have planned a long run for today, maybe 11 miles, not sure yet.  I am just happy to be running again.

Do you ever write with blue pens?
Were you aware of any of these facts?  Which is the most interesting?
Are you a little upset that your hair grows after you die?

Five Friday questions

I enjoy questions and answers, I feel like it makes people think and some of these questions will make you do just that.
I encourage you to take just a couple of these questions and answer back I would love to hear your response.

What is your most prized possession?
Right before my father died of cancer a few years ago he handed me these two carved fish he made. One is a crappy and one is a rainbow trout.  There is a story behind each of these fish and they mean the world to me.

What is the last movie you watched?
I just watched Wild, last weekend, and I will probably watch it again this weekend it was so good.

What is the first thing you ate or drank today?
I had a cup of Cocounut mocha coffee this morning.

What do you have too much of?
I have way too much stemware, and I don't drink anymore.  I have packed it up and it is sitting in my garage.

Where do you find peace?
The woods is where I find peace.  I have always been a nature girl and I will always be.  I grew up in the woods.

I hope everybody is having a great week.  I hope everybody is having great runs. I hope everybody is enjoying their life.  I am!!!!

There is no school today, which means Zachary has had four day weeks the last two weeks.  I am not complaining.  We are baking today, sorry about the lack of updates.

Please take a moment to pick a question and answer, I would love to hear your answers.

Device free Monday (AKA Mommy Monday)

Technology is great, however, I feel like it is replacing interpersonal communications, and that many people are addicted to their gadgets.
Zachary is 12, a pre-teen, and he loves video games.  He does not care about much of anything else.  You see Zachary is a naturally smart child, learning comes easy to him.  He is in several advanced classes, attends after school computer based math etc.  He is an easy child to raise.  My older two not so much, they were constantly into trouble, but they turned out great.
Last week I had a difficult time making Zachary get off the games. So we sat down and I told him he had to choose one day of the week that he would give up devices. We both agreed on Monday.

I am not going to lie, I was super excited to spend device free time with him.  I know how quick twelve years old turns into eighteen years old.

When he got home I had decaf coffee waiting for him.  We both drank our coffee deciding on which game we were going to play first checkers or Phase 10.
We chose a movie together Click, with Adam Sandler.
We went for a nice walk since it was cooler out, talked about lots of stuff.
This afternoon was the most fun I have had in a long time...It made me realize how much we love each other. It also made me realize how mature and sensitive he is.
I am already planning what we are going to do next Monday.
Monday is my rest day from working out, so I cut the yard. We have a huge yard and I use a push mower so I did exercise a little yesterday!!!
Tomorrow I will fill you in on more of my baking adventures.  Have a great Tuesday

When you eat out at restaurants, do you spend most of the time on a device or actually talking with a real human?
How was your Monday?
Is your child more book smart than you? Mine is, and sometimes I feel really dumb.
