I have bloggers block

I have sit here for two hours and cannot think of anything to blog about.  Is bloggers block a real thing?

Yesterday was National Taco Day.  I made the meat eaters in my home regular tacos.  I just had some cheese dip and chips.  Nobody like the hard shell tacos. So I pan fry flour tortillas with butter until they get slightly crispy.  They are so delicious.

Today is mommy Monday and I am trying to brainstorm ideas.  I am pretty sure we are going on an ABC nature scavenger hunt.  We used to do this when he was a toddler, but I mentioned it yesterday and he was on board.  We just go to a park with a piece of paper with the alphabet written down the side and try to find something for each letter.  Fortunately his name starts with Z so I always have that covered.

I was randomly scrolling through the local news yesterday and how about I found an article that said they are breaking ground for a Trader Joes in Memphis. This is good for two reasons 1) I love Trader Joes 2) my son who has worked at the one in Atlanta could possibly move here!!!!
This week marks my friend Cat's six months of sobriety and I am so happy to be able to go with her to receive her six month chip. We are taking her out Saturday to celebrate.
I am currently addicted to Sour Patch kids, and have no plans on quitting.  The blue ones are my fav.
After this past weekend, I realize how much I am not looking forward to the cold temperatures.  It was in the fifties and to me it felt like below zero.
Today is my weekly rest day from running.  I am really feeling good when I run again.  I have really missed that feeling.  I am really excited for my friends who have big races this coming weekend.  Have a great taper week

Have you ever had bloggers block?

The Friday Five

I have read great reviews about this book and decided yesterday that I had to have it. It is a woman who has struggled with mental illness most of her life and the crazy things she has done.  I have read a few pages and it is really good. After I am done reading it I will be having a giveaway for it...stay tuned!!!

This is my favorite fall scent.

Spaghetti squash is my favorite meal right now, I just bake it sprinkle it with salt and herbs and I have a meal.  It makes enough for several meals.

I love October because it is the first month in the south where the temperatures start to cool off.  While I am not a fan of cold, it was time for summer to go.

Anyone guess what my favorite F word is?  It is such a flexible word it can be used as a verb, adjective, adverb, noun, pronoun.  I use it pretty much on an hourly basis.  It is the word you never want to hear coming out of your child's mouth.  Correct - FUC*.

I know a lot of people racing this weekend and I wish all you guys the best of luck and speedy races.  I am taping, compressing, and rubbing down my leg before my race tomorrow.  All I can do now is pray to the running god that a bone doesn't pop out.

I got the best compliment yesterday at the gym by my running friend, Amy, she said she loves to read my blog!!!  I felt so good after she said that.  Have a great Friday.

What are you racing this weekend?
What is your most used cuss word? Be honest

Day one!!! Classic yellow bundt cake, and a new running record

I really did not know where to start with 700 recipes, so I just turned to a page.  Classic yellow bundt cake, it is in the oven now and it smells so good.  It was a pretty simple recipe with basic ingredients that most people already have in their pantry.

Usually when I bake I don't use precise measurements, I just eyeball it, however I want to follow every step and use exactly what each recipe calls for.  In the picture above, there are 3 eggs plus an extra yolk.  The egg situation was different because I usually throw the yolk out and eat only egg whites. Oops... Also ther is vanilla, lemon juice, white all purpose flour, unsalted butter, buttermilk, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt.  The eggs, butter, and buttermilk were room temperature per the recipe.
This challenge requires me to taste everything, I mean that is what all the professional chefs do!!! Yes, I licked the beater and the bowl and it was perfect.  I use a Kitchenmaid Artisan mixer. I have had it for twelve years, it is an important part of my life.  People laugh because when I move, it sits in the front seat next to me.  Hopefully, I won't have to move anytime soon.
Finished product. 699 more to go 364 days!!!

As I took on this challenge, I realized that none of the recipes are conducive to maintaining my "girlish" figure. In order to negate all the "extra" baked goods, I have decided to increase my mileage and incorporate a two-a-day workout when possible.
This morning I took to the sidewalks and knocked out a seven mile run.  When I got home and downloaded my Garmin I got an alert
This made me so happy!!!!!

Should I do a step by step of my recipes or just an overview?
Do you bake? What is your favorite baked good?
Do you have any fall races scheduled?
